Character Really Counts at Fremont Middle School

Trustworthiness. Respect. Responsibility. Fairness. Caring. Citizenship. These six words have special meaning to students at Fremont Middle School. These words represent the Six Pillars of Character that students are learning through the CHARACTER COUNTS! Program being taught and modeled by teachers. The CHARACTER COUNTS! website at www.charactercounts.org describes the program as “a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian coalition of schools, communities and nonprofit organizations working to advance character education by teaching the Six Pillars of Character.” Each pillar stresses traits that all people need to be decent, contributing members of society.
