FREMONT PUBLIC SCHOOLS' PLAN FOR S.T.A.R.S., NCLB and AYP
> Develop K-12 learning and performance standards.
> Use Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Maps (specific lesson plans) to insure that all students have an opportunity to learn the concepts and skills required to demonstrate proficiency of the standards, regardless of where they attend school or whom they have as a teacher.
> Develop assessments to measure student proficiency of the standards.
> Define student proficiency as mastery of a specific number of objectives on the CRT or by performance assesment for each grade or course.
> Test ALL students in a grade or secondary course wuth both the grade level or course CRT assesment and the ITBS/ITED test.
> Report student proficiency percentages at the local, state and national levels.
> Review annually, CRT and standardized test data to develop district, building, departmental and individual improvement goals.
> Conduct ongoing review of instructional plans and assesment results to ascertain areas in need of improvement.
> Create remediation strategies to address non-proficient students' needs.
> Implement accountability programs for nonproficient students.
