A LOOK AT LEARNING

The mission of Fremont Public Schools is to produce creative, adaptable, productive citizens committed to life-long learning. Fremont Public Schools has a proud history of achievement through hard work. The staff, students, parents and community have high expectations. The students consistently perform above the state and national averages on the ACT test and above grade level on standardized tests. The Fremont Pubic School District has established standards for language arts and math that have been identified by the Nebraska State School Board as equal to or more rigorous than the Nebraska State Standards. As additional standards are established, it is our goal to continue to develop highly rigorous standards of learning. Student achievement of the standards is being measured at all grade levels and in all courses.

The Fremont Public School District has one high school, one middle school and seven elementary schools. The North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges' accreditation has been awarded to Fremont High School and Fremont Middle School. All seven elementary schools are accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. The system is also accredited by the Nebraska State Board of Education.

Fremont High School students can select courses from a comprehensive array of offerings. Honors courses are offered in language arts, science and math. Advance placement courses are also available.

Fremont Middle School, grades 6-8, is designed around teaming. The students are divided into three teams at each grade level. This design provides for a strong nurturing environment for the students.

The Fremont elementary schools serve kindergarten through fifth grade students. The elementary enrollments range from 200 to 400 students. Students receive a strong background in the basics along with physical education, art and music. All schools offer all-day kindergarten classes. High quality media centers and computer labs support, enhance and extend the learning environment for the students.
